The acquisition of the Swiss precision mold design and automation specialist brings together over 60 years of expertise in IML and tooling, a global installed base of more than 2,500 automation systems, and direct access to key markets in Europe and North America. 

Vasantha Group, a global leader in high-quality precision injection mold and automation manufacturing, announces the full acquisition of Muller Technology Conthey SA, headquartered in Conthey, Switzerland, with a further facility in Loveland, USA. This merger makes Vasantha Group a global powerhouse for end-to-end solutions. Together, the group is setting new standards for innovation, speed, and global reach within the plastics industry. Muller Technology has been an established Swiss technology partner to the plastics packaging industry since 1959 – and is recognized as one of the leading providers of In-Mold Labelling automation (IML), thin wall packaging, precision mold design, and fully integrated automation lines.

With over 100 employees across approximately 8,050 m² of production space and a global installed base of more than 2,500 automation systems, Muller Technology significantly strengthens the Vasantha Group’s market position, deepens its technological portfolio, and provides direct access to a strong base of established customers across Europe, North America, and beyond.

Strategic Rationale: Combining Strengths, Closing Gaps

The acquisition creates one of the most complete value chains in the global plastics manufacturing industry. Vasantha Group, headquartered in Hyderabad – with subsidiaries VTW GmbH (Austria) and SAVYA Automation GmbH (Austria) – specializes in high-cavitation injection molds for pharmaceutical, medical, and packaging applications, as well as automation solutions for assembly and testing systems. Muller Technology complements this portfolio with dedicated IML automation: IML robots, high-speed takeout systems, stackers, case packers, palletizers, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), and vision inspection systems.

In toolmaking, the Conthey (Switzerland) facility integrates seamlessly with Vasantha’s sites in India and Austria: despite different end applications – thin-wall packaging at Muller Technology, complex high-cavitation molds at Vasantha – the underlying manufacturing processes are near-identical. This creates immediate opportunities for global capacity sharing and the reduction of external procurement.

Continuity for Customers and Employees

Muller Technology will continue to operate under its existing name, with Carsten Eisenkrämer remaining as Group CEO. Both production sites in Switzerland and Colorado will remain fully operational. Through the synergies of both automation divisions, a combined global team will be built, sharing know-how and capacities across all locations.
